I’ll Never Be Your Beast of Burden

What if you could help the person you love most master their integrity so they can live a life of peak performance and wellbeing?

You can. That’s what it means to love someone. That’s what your marriage can be. You get to help your spouse master their integrity so they can live a life of peak performance and wellbeing, and you both get to help your children do the same. Oh, by the way, your family does the same for you. Integrity is the ability to align your decisions and your actions with your conscience. What would life look like for you and your family if all of you mastered that skill?

That hasn’t been happening for the last three generations, because we prioritized compliance over peak performance and wellbeing. We defined marriage as a zero-sum power struggle, and defined parenthood as a burden, so that’s what they became. How has that worked out for everyone? How many marriages end in divorce?

Did our species survive and thrive for thousands of generations before the Baby Boomers by making family relationships power struggles that deliver nothing but perpetual burden? No, that’s how we created an epidemic of despair.

Collaboration is the human super power that took us from hunting and gathering to the top of the food chain. Do you want a spouse who collaborates with you on your quest for the optimal expression of your talent? Do you want to do that for them? Do you want a marriage in which you both do that for your kids?

Human beings will sacrifice everything for their highest priorities, so define your priorities as precisely as you can. Do you want to live a life of peak performance and wellbeing? Do you want to live a life of meaning and fulfillment that contributes to the wellbeing of your community? What is the most effective strategy for living the life you envision? What will happen if you prioritize faith, audacity, and integrity? What will happen if you help the person you love most train and master faith, audacity, and integrity? What will happen if you recruit a community of people who do the same for you? What will happen if your community does the same for the children of the community?

Who are you, and what do you want to do about it?

What’s the biggest, most important problem you can solve with your talents? And what’s your plan to solve it?

What will happen to the people you love if you never solve that problem?

What will happen to you if you let all of your talent go to waste?

What will happen to the people you love if you let all of your talent go to waste?

Since the quest for the optimal expression of your talent has to start sometime, what better time than now?
